Return Request due to Shipping Damage
Returns due to delivery damage that is SEVERE or MINOR (see relevant section below):
Returning furniture due to SEVERE damage:
NOTE: SEVERE shipping damage to furniture is enough to render the piece non-repairable. This may include extensive breakage or cracking of the frame or structural components, severe damage to the finish or upholstery, or a combination of both.
The customer must do the following:
- WRITE about the damage on the delivery paperwork that the customer signs at the time they receive the furniture - THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE SHIPPER LEAVES
- PHOTOGRAPH the damage
- REFUSE the delivery so that the delivery team takes the furniture back with them
- NOTIFY Amish Furniture Creations™ by emailing us at info@amishfurniturecreations.com and send us the pictures of the damage within 24 hours of delivery
- In such cases, Amish Furniture Creations™ will evaluate the situation together with the customer to determine if a replacement of the damaged furniture is necessary or if a refund will be issued. This is decided on a case-by-case basis.
Returning furniture due to MINOR damage:
NOTE: Minor shipping damage to furniture is damage that can be repaired by a furniture technician, and there are several types of such damages. These include scratches, dents, chips, and minor cracks in the furniture's frame or finish. Scratches on the surface of the furniture can be polished or filled, while dents and chips can be filled and blended to match the original finish. In addition, minor cracks in the frame can be glued and clamped to restore their strength and stability. Other repairable damages may include loose or broken joints, missing or damaged hardware, and minor upholstery tears or stains.
The customer must do the following:
- WRITE about the damage on the delivery paperwork that the customer signs at the time they receive the furniture
- PHOTOGRAPH the damage
- REFUSE the delivery so that the delivery team takes the furniture back with them
- NOTIFY Amish Furniture Creations™ by emailing us at info@amishfurniturecreations.com and send us the pictures of the damage within 24 hours of delivery
- In such cases where a customer refuses a delivery and returns an item with minor damage that is repairable, once we receive the furniture back from the shipper, a refund will be issued less a 25% Restocking Fee and less the shipping/delivery fee. The shipping/delivery fee is non-refundable.
- NOTE: If the customer decides to not Return furniture with MINOR shipping damage and would like to keep it and have it repaired, Amish Furniture Creations™ will contact a furniture technician in the customer's area and cover the cost of repairing the minor damage, so the customer can have peace of mind the repair will be taken care of.
