Wood Species

Our Amish furniture can be ordered in a variety of wood species choices.

• If you order online, the items are only available in the 1 wood species as shown.

• If you order in person at our store in Mesa, AZ, you are able to choose from a variety of wood species choices.  Wood species  See our store for details.

Wood species most Amish builders work with:

• Red Oak
• Quarter Sawn White Oak
• Brown Maple
• Ambrosia Maple
• Hard Maple
• Cherry and Rustic Cherry
• Hickory and Rustic Hickory
• Walnut and Rustic Walnut

Please remember - each wood species (oak, maple, cherry, etc.) has different patterns of wood grain - some are more noticeable and bold whereas others have finer and thin grain lines that are more subtle.  Each species of wood also accepts stain a little differently, and there can be variability in lighter and darker areas due to how each piece of wood absorbs the stain.  That is beauty of real wood.
